From mobile app-based learning to Speaking Bee competitions, students develop spoken English, reading and communication skills through an innovative learning initiative.
New Delhi, October 17, 2026: SR Capital Senior Secondary School, Delhi, is making English language learning more engaging, practical and meaningful through its participation in the Language Learning Lab (LLL) programme, an initiative of the Centre for Civil Society (CCS) under its Bolo English project.
The programme is helping children move beyond textbook learning and develop the confidence to communicate effectively in English. By combining technology-enabled learning with interactive classroom activities, the school is creating opportunities for students to strengthen their speaking, reading, listening and communication skills.
A key component of the initiative is its mobile learning application, which enables students to practise English through interactive lessons, vocabulary exercises, listening activities and pronunciation practice. The application encourages children to learn at their own pace, revisit lessons and practise beyond regular classroom hours.
Another important highlight is the Speaking Bee Competition, which provides students with a platform to demonstrate their English-speaking abilities. Such activities encourage children to overcome hesitation, organise their thoughts, improve pronunciation and develop the confidence to express themselves before an audience.
The initiative addresses a common challenge in school education: while many children can read and write English, they often struggle to communicate confidently in everyday situations. The Language Learning Lab seeks to bridge this gap by making English a language of expression rather than merely a subject of examination.
The programme also reflects the broader educational vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023, which emphasise experiential learning, foundational literacy, competency-based education and the integration of technology into teaching and learning.
Speaking about the initiative, Lakshya Chhabaria, Head of School, SR Capital Senior Secondary School, said:
"English should not remain confined to textbooks and examinations. The real purpose of language education is to enable children to express their thoughts, share their ideas and communicate confidently. Through the Language Learning Lab, children are getting opportunities to practise English using technology and participate in activities such as the Speaking Bee Competition. We want every child to feel confident enough to speak, make mistakes, learn and improve. This is how meaningful learning takes place."
He further emphasised that integrating technology with classroom teaching can make language education more engaging, accessible and effective, particularly for children studying in affordable private schools.
The school also acknowledged the contribution of the Centre for Civil Society in creating opportunities for children to develop practical English communication skills through innovative educational interventions.
Through initiatives such as the Language Learning Lab, SR Capital Senior Secondary School continues to promote an educational environment where children are encouraged not only to acquire knowledge but also to develop the confidence and competencies needed for the future.
